Jack Cumes’ Singing Transformation – Before & After

singing transformations Jan 20, 2021

When I first met Jack these were the issues he was facing:

– He was unable to sing past the G4 note without straining
– His vocal tone was either overly deep or overly whiny (he lacked control over the shape of his vocal tone)
– His voice would weaken and he would lose range after practicing singing more intensely

In Jack’s full transformation video you’ll hear that Jack has achieved the following with his voice:

– Gained over 10 full voice notes to sing past C5, C#5, D5 and above
– Developed a more resonant tone with much more clarity
– Developed endurance and strength in his voice to be able to sing for intense live performances and long recording sessions

Here’s what Jack had to say about his voice before we began training:
“In the past I had always struggled with finding the right tonality for my voice and it hindered my range drastically. I could never seem to make it past a G4 without getting into shaky territory. I had always struggled with breathe support and placement and could never really feel what was the right placement for my voice, which gave me a number of vocal problems when performing and practicing.”

This is what Jack experiences when singing now:
“In just a year of training, my range had increased drastically and my tone was much better. Now when I finish a rehearsal, practice or gig my voice feels strong and clean. Even after doing four or five hour recording sessions I find that my voice still has all its range/tone and I could potentially sing even longer.”

Moving forward with Jack
Currently Jack and I are still training together and at the moment we are fine tuning his voice to feel even easier, produce a more well rounded tone and strive for even more freedom in his voice. Jack is currently recording the vocals for his debut EP which is scheduled to be released in the near future and we are always working on getting his voice to the next level for whatever musical challenges arise ahead.

I hope you enjoyed an insight into the vocal progress that my student Jack has made. If it has inspired you to continue to develop your voice and achieve the music and vocal goals you wish to achieve then you can book a Skype lesson with me here on my website.
